The idea for a fraternity in Peterborough was proposed by AJ Newans, one of our founding fathers in March 2004. After contacting 3 separate fraternities, it was decided that Tau Kappa Epsilon was the appropriate choice to becoming an interest group. In the summer of 2004, Ed Dominy, Chris Sullivan, and 3 other members of the Upsilon Eta chapter in Oshawa visited to discuss the formation of a TKE colony.
November 9, 2005 - Colony 799 received its status at Fleming college.
February 12, 2005 - Chris Hagle, AJ Newans and Adrian Shields were the first 3 member of Colony 799 to be initiated into the fraternity.
April 9, 2005 - Darin Harris, Braydon Boland, Kyle Burke, Mike Saunders, Allen Dolphin, Zac Brown, Adam Yeoman and Don Newans (Honorary Member) were the last members of the Alpha class to be initiated into the fraternity.
December 9, 2005 - Beta Class was initiated
May 19, 2007- Colony 799 became the Upsilon Kappa chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon.
